As social media became more popular in the last decade, so has a fascination with the inner lives of celebrities. Celebrity weddings can be pricey, but who has hosted the most expensive weddings in the last decade? Hint: they’re weddings fit for royalty!
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s Wedding
Is it any surprise that the latest royal wedding is the most expensive celebrity wedding to date? The second son of Princess Diana and the former actress tied the knot in 2018. Their ceremony cost a whopping $45 million.
Most of the expenses went towards security, but it also included Meghan’s Givenchy dress and second reception dress, floral arches in St. George Chapel, and food and drinks at the reception.
Fun fact: Meghan’s tiara, a diamond and platinum bandeau, was borrowed from Queen Mary, as she received it back in 1893 for her wedding to Prince George.
Prince William and Kate Middleton’s Wedding
Following Prince Harry’s expensive wedding is his brother William’s wedding to Kate Middleton, rounding out to $34 million. Like Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s wedding, this ceremony saw most of the cost go to security — $32 million to be exact.
The rest of the expenses went towards Kate’s dress designed by Alexander McQueen, food, entertainment, drinks, flowers…just like anyone else’s wedding! That is if any of us have $2 million to spend.
Nevertheless, the iconic royal wedding from 2011 went down in history as one of the best royal wedding ceremonies, as William and Kate shared a kiss on the balcony of Buckingham Palace.

This couple may not be a household name, but Angela is a big deal in China. Indeed, she is best known for her singing career as Angelababy, and for being the country’s biggest socialite. The singer married actor Huang Xiaoming in 2015 and splurged $31 million on her ceremony.
Her ring alone cost $1.5 million, and her wedding dress was designed by Christian Dior that took 5 months to put together.
